Due to this, in a bid to deter & disrupt such plans, a pre-emptive Section 34 Dispersal Order has been authorised by Inspector Byrne, from the Abingdon Neighbourhood Team.
The dispersal will be in place, surrounding Shippon & the Abingdon Airfield from 3pm on Saturday 15th November till 1a.m on Sunday 16th November 2025.
The area will Include:
Marcham Road, from the A34, to the Faringdon Road.
Blackhorse Lane to Cothill Road.
Honeybottom Lane.
Whitecross.
Wootton Road to Long Tow.
Cholswell Road.
Faringdon Road & Barrow Road.
A Section 34 Dispersal Order, empowers officers to direct individuals to leave a designated area for a period of time, if they are suspected of causing,
or likely to cause anti-social behaviour, crime & disorder.
The purpose of this dispersal is to reduce the likelihood of such behaviour & to help maintain public safety by effectively banning those that may cause issues.
Failing to comply with a dispersal order issued by an officer will likely result in arrest.
You will see police officers in the area whilst the order is in place. If you are visiting the area for the Fireworks event & have any concerns, you can speak to any of the officers who will be on patrol during the evening, or security at the event.”
